To the many community members eager to give back and support at-risk communities, Amelia Costello (PHS ’20) is seeking contributions to the hygiene drive for the St. Vincent de Paul homeless shelter.
St. Vincent de Paul is the largest homeless shelter in Northern California, offering a wide range of services and assistance programs with the mission of improving the basic quality of life for the individuals and families they serve, and breaking the cycles of homelessness and domestic violence. Each day, they shelter, feed, and support homeless men and women struggling to find adequate food or shelter throughout the city.
The majority of the guests are people of color, so this is an especially difficult and emotional time for them.
With the hygiene products donated, the goal to make this time a little easier for those who use shelter services.
Costello is collecting the following new, unopened items (any size except Costco size is fine):
- Dental floss
- Feminine hygiene products
- Any other hygiene products you can think of!
WHERE/HOW: Please drop off donations in the brown box outside 218 San Carlos Ave in Piedmont by Wednesday 6/24. If you are unable to drop items off but would still like to contribute, please contact Costello know to arrange for volunteers to pick up the items from your home.
Thank you for your generosity and kindness!
