Bay Area coronavirus updates | Sat., June 13

The latest developments around the region related to COVID-19 as of Saturday afternoon include:

  • Santa Clara County is calling for greater adherence to social distancing and safety protocols at construction sites after “multiple cases” of novel coronavirus were detected among workers at four construction sites.
  • More than $1 million in funds from San Francisco’s soda tax, approved by voters in 2016, will be put toward providing meals for people affected by the novel coronavirus pandemic, Mayor London Breed said Friday.
  • Sonoma County has made novel coronavirus antibody testing available for county health care workers. Along with health care workers, testing is offered to first responders, as well as community members who tested positive for COVID-19 at least three weeks ago.
  • The Pacifica Municipal Pier and the Pacifica Skatepark will reopen next week after being closed for three months due to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, city officials said.
  • As of Saturday at 3 p.m., officials have confirmed the following number of cases around the greater Bay Area region (“+” number added since last check Fri., June 12):
    • Alameda County: 4,216 cases, 109 deaths on Friday (no updates since Friday)
    • Contra Costa County: 1,921 cases (+44), 44 deaths
    • Marin County: 676 cases (+8), 17 deaths
    • Monterey County: 865 cases, 11 deaths
    • Napa County: 168 cases (+5), 3 deaths
    • San Francisco County: 2,906 cases (+28), 44 deaths
    • San Mateo County: 2,553 cases, 99 deaths
    • Santa Clara County: 3,157 cases (+94), 150 deaths (+2)
    • Santa Cruz County: 255 cases (+1), 2 deaths
    • Solano County: 657 cases (+14), 23 deaths
    • Sonoma County: 722 cases (+21), 4 deaths
    • Statewide: 145,643 cases (+3,660), 4,989 deaths (+46)
