Rec Dept shutters pool and PRD building; cancels programs, events due to coronavirus

The Piedmont Recreation Department sent the following notice on Friday evening, March 13:

Piedmont Recreation Department: COVID-19 Update

Our highest priority is to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our community during the rapidly changing COVID-19 health threat. With the closure of PUSD, and the desire to protect our community, all Piedmont Recreation Department programs and facilities are being closed and postponed/canceled effective Saturday, March 14 through Sunday, March 29. Please see below for more information. 

Programs postponed/canceled through March 29:

  • Minimates
  • Schoolmates
  • All Preschool Classes and Programs
  • All After-School Enrichment Classes and Programming
  • Aquatics Programming including all swim lessons, water aerobics, facility rentals, and lap swimming
  • Adult Drop-in Sports, including Basketball, Tennis and Pickleball
  • Adult and Senior programming, including Yoga and Walking on Wednesdays
  • Bunny Blast
  • Egg Dive

The Piedmont Community Pool will be closed to all patrons effective Saturday, March 14 through Sunday, March 29. Current pool passes will be extended for the duration of our closure. We will notify all patrons once passes have been extended.

Facilities Update

All PRD facilities – including Piedmont Community Pool and PRD Building – are closed and programming and events are therefore canceled.
As you are aware, response to the COVID-19 is an evolving situation so please look for future updates and check your email for specific program information.

We will provide credits for all affected programs. These credits do not expire and can be used at any time for any PRD program.
If you would like to receive a refund instead of credit please contact PRD via email at prd@piedmont.ca.gov We appreciate your patience during this time.
