Missing your favorite Mulberry’s sandwich? Try “The Sando Line”

Piedmont’s only in-town grocery store and deli is making it easier for you to order your favorite sandwiches without violating social distance orders.

According to an email sent to customers on Mar. 25, you can call “The Sando Line” between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. and place an order for pickup.

“Here’s how it works. Call Mulberry’s (652-3779) and press ‘2’ for the order line. Between 11:00 am and 2:00 pm every day, we promise someone will actually answer it and you can order sandwiches to be picked up at the register in a bag with your name on it.

You can then grab drinks, chips, cookies, or any other lunch accompaniments and be off on your merry way without violating the social distancing recommendations.

If this pilot works out, we can potentially expand to all kinds of crazy stuff – dinner, grocery items, delivering out to your cars, home delivery. . . the possibilities are mind boggling.”

The store also says it continues to re-stock with many items not available elsewhere, like flour, milk, eggs, and butter.
