Fire Chief adds voice to the chorus: Do. NOT. Congregate.

Julie Reichle

From Bret Black, Piedmont Fire Chief:

Piedmonters: Please commit to reviewing the following message. I would like to ask that you reach out to your friends and neighbors DIGITALLY or by phone to ensure they are aware of these resources should they need assistance. (View Alameda County resources HERE)

Please avoid all in-person contact with people outside your household.

As your Fire Chief, I also implore you to follow the Shelter-in-Place orders (View order: HERE):

We have seen numerous gatherings and pick-up sports in parks and schools where social distancing is not being followed. I’ve also seen groups of people (kids, nannies, pets, etc.) hanging out with their friends at Mulberry’s socializing.

The potential for escalation of this event is real. Assume that anyone outside your home could be carrying the virus.

Please comply with social distancing requirements by staying home unless absolutely necessary.

Thank you,

Bret Black
