On March 7, Dress Best for Less (DBFL), Piedmont’s own non-profit resale shop, is moving back to Piedmont Avenue. The new store location is 4020 Piedmont Avenue, near Piedmont Grocery.  “We have loved being a part of Lakeshore Avenue community for the past few years, but are so excited to be returning to the street we were founded on” said Linda Smith Munyan, president of the DBFL Board.

A grand opening celebration will be held Saturday, March 7 at the new location on Piedmont Ave. Special events are being planned for the week, including music and a raffle. Visitors to the store during the first week may fill out a raffle ticket to win one of three prizes. No purchase necessary. Store hours will be Tuesday through Saturday, 11am-6pm.

DBFL has thrived on Lakeshore Avenue for the past two years, but looks forward to moving into the larger space on Piedmont Avenue. The last day on Lakeshore Avenue will be February 28, 2020.  To clear inventory, there will be special pricing on all merchandise at the Lakeshore Avenue location (3411 Lakeshore Ave).  Starting the week of February 17th, the entire store inventory is 75% off.

Dress Best for Less was founded in 1982, by Wendy Willrich and a group of Havens Elementary School moms, who decided to collect unneeded household items and clothing to sell to the community in order to raise money for the schools. Over the past 30 years, DBFL has donated in excess of 1 million dollars to the Piedmont Education Foundation (PEF). PEF is devoted to promoting academic excellence, investing in innovation and providing sustained financial support to the Piedmont Unified School district (www.PiedmontEdFoundation.org).

DBFL also proudly gives back to the community at large. The organization regularly donates to community groups in the East Bay and beyond, such as Bay Area schools, St. Vincent de Paul, animal rescue organizations, Oakland Children’s Hospital and as well as other local organizations in need.

Donations of gently used, high quality clothing and home goods allow the organization to raise the funds that make donations to the Piedmont Ed Foundation and other local community groups possible. Please consider making high quality donations to DBFL.  All donations are tax deductible.
