Crime alert: Highland Ave. BofA ATM machine may have been compromised

The following warning notice from the Piedmont Police Department was posted on its Facebook page on Wednesday, Jan. 8:

We would like to make everyone aware that our department has received multiple reports of debit and credit card accounts being compromised over the holidays here in Piedmont.

Most of these reports have included a possible nexus to the use of the ATM at the Bank of America located at 345 Highland Avenue. Piedmont Investigators are working closely with B of A Security to pin point the exact source of the breach.

In the meantime, we ask that anyone who has used the ATM please check your bank accounts for any unusual activity. If you suspect that you have been the victim of a crime please contact your financial institution and/or the Piedmont Police Department. Read Piedmont Police Department Identity Theft Resources
