Scouting for Food Drive donates over 7,600 pounds of food

The annual Scouting for Food Drive was a smashing success! The Piedmont community donated over 7,600 pounds of food to the Alameda County Community Food Bank, helping to ensure their services run smoothly this holiday season.

The Virtual Food Drive has currently brought in $5717.15 through donations online and in-person, which is close to an all-time record! The Virtual Drive will remain open through December 11, where you can donate so the Food Bank can purchase perishable items and other necessities.

On behalf of the entire Piedmont Scout Council and the Alameda County Community Food Bank, Piedmont Scouting thanks all for their support. A big thanks to all Scout and Venturer volunteers, who put in hundreds of volunteer hours to make this drive a success. And — another thank you to the Rec. Dept. and Dress Best for Less for use of the parking lot.

See you all next year!

  1. Thanks everyone for your support and donations! We just hit our Virtual Food Drive goal of $5000 and we have checks in the office still to mail to the Food Bank! In total, that’s over $6,100! Way to go!
