Community leaders voice support for the Giving Campaign

The leaders of our Piedmont community have unanimously expressed their support for the Giving Campaign, the largest annual fundraiser for Piedmont’s schools. The principals of every school in the PUSD, Piedmont City Council members and the entire Piedmont Board of Education all highlight the deep necessity of the Giving Campaign, and their appreciation for the community that supports it.

“They say it takes a village to raise a child. In Piedmont, however, the entire city works together to make sure its children receive a superb education. PEF’s fundraising efforts would be much less effective without the full support of the PUSD teachers, staff and administration, the Parents’ Clubs and Support Groups, and the city itself. We all work together to make sure the need and the excitement of the Giving Campaign are communicated. Then we collaborate on how the funds raised will be spent to the greatest effect.”

Heather Frank, PEF Executive Director

Each year, the funds raised by the Giving Campaign empower the PUSD to provide a broad variety of educational resources in our schools. To join your community in supporting our teachers, administrators, and students, please visit: www.piedmontedfoundation.org/donate/

“Our Piedmont students receive, and benefit, from rich learning experiences due in large part to small classes and engaging specialist programs thanks to the generous contributions of the Giving Campaign.”

Ryan Fletcher, Principal of Piedmont Middle School, and family

I“As principal of PMS, I deeply appreciate how much the Giving Campaign has supported our efforts in many new initiatives throughout the years I have been in Piedmont – funding important programs, upgrading classrooms to maximize collaboration and cooperation, and providing professional development opportunities for staff. Now as a parent, it’s exciting to see firsthand how my son in elementary school is benefiting from the amazing support of this community. Thank you to all who contribute to this critical campaign.”

Shannon Fierro, Principal of Millennium High School

“Each year Millennium High School is about 30% new students. An essential part of accelerating the formation of community in the fall is taking a retreat together as a whole school community. This annual event is underwritten by a generous annual contribution from the Piedmont Education Foundation, for which MHS is deeply grateful. As the principal of MHS, I am grateful for all of the Giving Campaign donations each year that help us better realize our goal of creating schools that nurture the academic and social-emotional development and success of each of the children in our care.”

“The Piedmont Board of Education is unanimous in its support for the Piedmont Education Foundation’s Giving Campaign fundraiser. We encourage all parents of children in the district and all residents of our town to learn about the vital role community contributions play in keeping our schools strong and consider supporting the campaign with a tax-deductible donation. Every contribution makes a difference!”

“Piedmont’s schools have been at the heart of our family’s experience in Piedmont. We moved here because of the quality of our public schools; we’ll stay here because we love the community we’ve built for ourselves. We know how essential community support is to keeping our schools strong and hope others will join us in funding the quality education PUSD delivers to kids of all ages.”
