System upgrade will affect City’s business phone service on Oct. 2

The City of Piedmont sent the following notice out via AC Alert on Friday, Sept. 27:

On Wednesday, October 2n at approximately 6:00 p.m., the City of Piedmont will undertake an upgrade to its phone system which will necessitate a period of down time for the City’s business phone system, including the non-emergency lines at public safety dispatch. We’ve scheduled the upgrade to minimize impact on residents and staff. Our vendor estimates that the business phone system will be down for between one and three hours, but the phone system will return to operation as soon as the work is completed.

911 service will not be affected by this upgrade.

We expect that business phone services will be restored to normal that evening. Thanks for your cooperation.
