At the August 13 school board meeting, the Piedmont Education Foundation presented the school district with a check for $3 million. The amount represents fundraising by the community during the 2018 Giving Campaign.

The Campaign raises money to keep class sizes small and to provide classroom instructional aides and counselors, a wide array of electives, active visual and performing arts programs, and to help invest in curriculum, teacher professional development, and instructional materials. The money makes up approximately 9% of the district’s budget not covered by federal, state or local funding. This year’s Giving Campaign begins August 27.
