National Weather Service issues Heat Advisory

The following alert was sent out to Alameda County residents on Tuesday, August 13 at approximately 4:23 pm:

The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for Alameda County for Wednesday and Thursday. Cities in the Western parts of Alameda County near the Bay will be a bit cooler while Eastern parts of the County will be warmer. Temperatures in Tri-Valley Cities may reach 105 degrees Wednesday and will be slightly higher on Thursday.

If you do not have air conditioning and have health concerns, a list of Cooling Centers is attached. These include Libraries, Senior Centers, and Commercial Centers that are open during daylight hours. Information is also included from Alameda County Public Health on how to stay hydrated and protect yourself from heal illness.
