Chief Tubbs passed away over the weekend. He served as the City of Piedmont Fire Chief from 2010-2013, and, through an agreement with the City of Albany, he also served as Albany’s Fire Chief from August 2011 through May 2013.

Previously, Chief Tubbs served as Assistant Fire Chief with the City of Dixon. He began his fire service career with the City of Davis Fire Department working his way from Firefighter to Captain over 10 years. He held a bachelor’s degree in communications from Sacramento State University and a variety of certifications in fire prevention and other related subjects. After leaving the Albany Fire Department he moved to Idaho where he was the Fire Marshal for the Timberlake Fire Protection District.
