Congratulations to Millennium and Piedmont High Schools for earning the No Place For Hate designation from the Anti-Defamation League for their combined efforts this year to create a school community that is welcoming to all, inclusive and honors the diverse experiences of all students.

This year our student leaders from both schools attended a day-long Becoming an Ally workshop; students and teacher participated in a fishbowl discussion in front of the full staffs of both schools on topics of inclusion in the classroom; students led a lunchtime Privilege Beads activity; and students and teachers co-designed a student-led I Am Here assembly for both schools which made space for students to share their own personal experiences of identity and membership in the school and larger community.

It is a great honor for both schools and a call to action to continue this important work.
