Persons: Margaret Foster, nurse practitioner at Kaiser Oakland, and her husband Todd.
Pet: Ojai
Age: He’ll be 2 in May.
Breed: We think he’s a Scottish terrier/beagle/pit mix.
Adoption story: I was bitten by a dog when I was about 10 years old. As I got older my fear became debilitating to a point where if I saw a dog I would run to the other side of the street drenched in sweat. My husband suggested we get a dog and I laughed him out the room! After much deliberation we went to the Milo Foundation in Richmond. They’re a non-profit with a no kill policy. Ojai was calm and had an “old” feel to him. He has brought so much love, joy, and laughter to us daily. Needless to say, I’m quite comfortable around dogs now.
Likes: Running, chasing, making friends in the park.
Dislikes: Squirrels.
Interesting facts: My husband and I went on our very first trip to Ojai, California and fell in love with it. That’s how Ojai got his name. (His name was Erwin before we renamed him.) We wanted a name that was of significance to both of us.
Anything else we should know: Ojai hides his treats around the house.
