The Highlanders defeated Albany on April 2, and St. Mary’s-Albany on April 3. They lost to Arroyo on April 4.
Piedmont is now 4-6 overall, and 0-4 in West Alameda County Foothill Division play.
Piedmont 8, Albany 1
In the Albany game, the visiting Highlanders took the lead for good with a five-run 3rd inning. Piedmont had six consecutive hits, with Camile Creighton capping the inning with a two-run double. Chiara Lundin had a two-run single and Caroline Strauch also drove in a run with a single.
Kylie Heller singled in a run in the 5th, and Creighton singled in another in the 6th to finish with three RBI.
Sidney Plummer hit a one-out triple in the first and came home on a ground out for Albany. The Cougars did little the rest of the way, managing just two more hits against pitcher Kyra Gardner.
Piedmont 5, St. Mary’s 1
In the home win against St. Mary’s, the Highlanders scored two runs in the 1st to take an early lead. Lundin reached on an error and Creighton doubled to drive her in. in by Creighton. Maeve Gilbert then singled in Creighton.
Piedmont made it 5-0 in the 4th, with Heller singling in two runs and later scoring on an error.
St. Mary’s got one back in the sixth when Reyna Heredia singled and was doubled in by Caili Anderson.
Gardner allowed four hits in the complete game win.
Arroyo 11, Piedmont 0
Piedmont managed just three hits in six innings against Dons pitcher Tori Cortez. Arroyo took control of the game with an eight-run second inning, then added three in the 6th to trigger the mercy rule. Taylor Hanekamp hit a three-run homer to account for the latter runs. She finished with two hits and five RBI.
Erin Sturdivant had two hits for Piedmont.
The Highlanders next play April 10 at home against Alameda. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m.
