Piedmont, Oakland moms form volunteer service organization for boys

Driven by a burning desire to teach their sons the importance of giving back and making a difference in their local community, a group of Piedmont and Oakland mothers have formed a local chapter of boys team charity (btc) called The Oaks. The btc organization is a volunteer service organization dedicated to developing an altruistic spirit in young men through active participation of parents and sons in philanthropic projects in their communities. Think National Charity League (NCL) for boys.

In addition to providing valuable community service, btc strives to promote personal growth, strengthen family relationships, develop team skills, and provide educational opportunities for young men.

Clearly, the community is filled with like minds, as The Oaks chapter quickly reached membership for the current 6th/incoming 7th grade (class of 2025). Given the high level of interest, the chapter is now extending its reach to form groups for the incoming 9th-12th grade classes.

Any interested families that reside in Piedmont or Oakland are encouraged to submit an application from the website (http://btctheoaks.chapterweb.net) by the April 26 deadline.
