Amber Brumfiel and Shannon Mitchell, co-chairs of 2019’s Spring Fling, announced that the Grand Gala, the theme of this year’s event, will take place on April 5 at the Claremont Club & Spa, a Fairmont Hotel, and will feature an exclusive performance by popular 80s cover band Tainted Love. Spring Fling, a production of Piedmont Education Foundation (PEF), is Piedmont’s largest annual fundraising event that supports Beach, Havens, and Wildwood, Piedmont Unified School District’s (PUSD) three elementary schools. Tickets for the gala go on sale February 14 and are expected to sell out quickly.
The elegant ballrooms of the Claremont Club & Spa will serve as a backdrop for the black-tie optional 2019 Spring Fling Grand Gala event. The evening will feature a cocktail hour where guests can browse silent auction items and buy raffle tickets, a cake auction, and a sit-down dinner followed by a fund-a-need event and live auction featuring one-of-a-kind experiences. The evening will wrap up with the after party on the dance floor, spurred by Tainted Love’s particular brand of high-energy, over-the-top renditions of everyone’s favorite hits from the 80s.
The party is only part of the Spring Fling activity. The online auction launches on March 18. All Piedmonters are encouraged to go online to bid on exceptional items donated by our generous community.
The Spring Fling committee will be reaching out soon to ask parents and local businesses to sponsor the event. Parent sponsorship levels start as low as $500, which includes an invitation to the exclusive Parent Sponsor party on March 21. Business sponsors will be acknowledged in the Spring Fling catalog. Interested grandparents can also sponsor and attend the Grandparent Party on March 31. Spring Fling’s parent parties are in the planning stages right now, and everyone will have the opportunity to buy tickets to perennial parent favorites, which may include the Meat Party, Tacos & Tequila, and Flip Flops & Lemon Drops, and kid classics like end-of-year events and block parties. This year also brings back the second annual Spring Fling Golf Classic at Claremont Country Club on April 25. Spring Fling sponsorships and additional information are available here.
