Piedmont High School’s soccer teams lost their home field advantage in the first round of the North Coast Section playoffs thanks to heavy rains and a flooded pitch on February 13. The boys and girls teams were scheduled to play a double-header but Witter Field flooded and the NCS had to postpone the matches. Because of a drainage problem, the rescheduled games were moved.
The fourth-seeded boys team will now play No. 13 Hercules at Hercules at 6 p.m. on February 14. The winner will face the winner of the St. Mary’s-Moreau Catholic match in the Division 4 quarterfinals on February 16.
The girls, also seeded fourth, will now play No. 13 St. Patrick-St. Vincent-Vallejo at Pinole Valley High School on February 14. That match will start at 7 p.m. The winner will face fifth-seeded Head Royce on February 16 in the Division 4 quarterfinals.
