A man was taken into custody on Feb. 15 after he was pulled over on Linda Avenue. He was taken to Santa Rita Jail in Dublin and booked for DUI, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of burglary tools, and probation violation.
The incident happened at 4:25 a.m. Piedmont police officers pulled over a black Toyota RAV4 which had no license plates. Officers determined the driver was under the influence, according to Piedmont police Capt. Chris Monahan. The suspect could not stand up, according to Monahan, and an open bottle of beer was in one of the vehicle’s cup holders.
A search of the vehicle produced key fobs, a glass pipe, and burglary tools, Monahan said. He added that the vehicle is suspected to be stolen.
On Feb. 11, officers contacted a driver attempting to tow a trailer that had no license plate and no VIN. A search of the driver’s pickup turned up a glass pipe, according to Monahan. The driver was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia and the trailer was towed.
On Feb. 14, a black 2014 Hyundai Tucson was reported stolen across from Selborne Drive. The report said the vehicle was taken between 2:09 and 3:30 p.m. Two days later, the vehicle was found in Oakland with damage and no license plates. The victim was notified to retrieve the vehicle.
