The National Weather Service says heavy snowfall accumulations are expected on several major roadways in the mountains on Saturday, Jan. 6 due to a cold winter storm moving through the area this weekend. Traffic will be impacted Saturday through Sunday morning with one to two feet of snow forecast from Blue Canyon to Truckee on Hwy 80 and a similar forecast from Kyburz to Twin Bridges and Echo Summit on Hwy 50.
