From a Piedmont Police Department’s social media post on Aug. 23:
Earlier today, August 23, 2023, Officer Singh noticed a suspicious vehicle in the area of Oakland and Olive Ave. He initiated a traffic stop and upon making contact with the driver, determined he had a suspended license. Further investigation revealed the driver had an outstanding no-bail warrant for burglary. Officer Singh also observed the driver to be wearing an ankle monitor as a condition of his probation. A search of the vehicle revealed two live rifle rounds, a stolen catalytic converter, and a stolen laptop from the University of California-Berkeley. Further search revealed the suspect had fentanyl in his pocket. He was transported to Santa Rita Jail and booked on the above charges.
