Troop 1 scouts offering burgers and more after the July Fourth parade

Troop 1 scouts at work cooking burgers for their July Fourth burger stand.

Every year after the July Fourth parade, attendees line up for burgers made by scouts from Piedmont’s Troop 1. Juicy beef burgers, cheeseburgers, and Impossible burgers will again be available for purchase this year for $8, with water and watermelon an additional $2.

Buying burgers not only supports the troop, but also the individual scouts, who plan and prepare for the stand in the spring and learn important skills such as communication, time management, and safety. The burger stand is Troop 1’s main fundraising event for the entire year and proceeds go toward scout activities, camping and other outdoor events, merit badges and Eagle Scout awards, and other essentials to running the troop.

Running the stand on the Fourth is a whole troop effort — the older and more experienced scouts cook and flip the burgers, while the younger scouts carefully wrap them to keep them warm.

Make sure to check out the Troop 1 burger stand this July 4th!
