Now’s the time to take in stunning displays of flowering trees, wildflower meadows, and lush landscapes in Piedmont and parks nearby. Our edit team was out and about this week to capture some of the color:

If you’re looking for a nearby destination for wildflower blooms, the hills above UC Berkeley are full of color right now, thanks to a native plant restoration project above UC Berkeley (access via the Clark Kerr fire trail or Claremont Canyon Regional Preserve). It’s a strenuous hike up, but between the expansive Bay Area views and the hillside color, it’s worth the effort.
You’ll find fifty shades of green plus fuzzy moss blankets on every tree if you head to the Oakland Hills. (Photos taken on the Dunn Trail in Redwood Regional Park.)
