Update from the Piedmont Police Department on July 7:
Today, deputies from the Alameda County Sheriffs Office located the suspect vehicle in a parking lot located at 151st and E. 14th in San Leandro. The vehicle was occupied by two minors. Both occupants were taken into custody and the vehicle was searched. The robbery victim’s watch was recovered and a ski mask was found inside the vehicle. No firearms were recovered. The car was impounded and evidence collection continues. One of the occupants had an outstanding warrant for robbery.
From the Piedmont Police Department on July 6:
On July 6, an armed robbery occurred near the intersection of Sea View Ave. and La Salle Ave. in Piedmont at approximately 3:40 p.m. A resident was walking in the neighborhood when two suspects approached him. One of the suspects pointed a firearm at the victim while the other suspect took the victim’s belongings.
The victim was not injured during the robbery. Based on the description of the suspect vehicle and the images captured by license plate cameras, the suspects’ vehicle has been identified as a red, four door, Nissan Altima, tinted windows, with a license plate of 8DUY642. The vehicle is outstanding at this time. The suspects were described as two Black males in their early 20’s, 5’5’’, 150 lbs. and wearing dark clothing.
