City-owned property at the corporation yard and Blair Park, on Moraga Avenue, presents an opportunity to upgrade city facilities and also provide much-needed affordable housing.
There appears to be much unused space at the venerable “corp yard” in its present configuration. The Council should consider moving the corp yard to Blair Park and consolidating and updating the facility, leaving the corp yard grounds for affordable housing. There may be daunting geo-structural issues and staff resistance may arise, but serious consideration should be given to these properties for affordable housing, anyway.
