Tracking COVID in Piedmont | Apr. 13

According to the most recent update from the Alameda County Office of Public Health on Apr. 13, total coronavirus cases in Piedmont as of today stood at 176, a slight uptick from the 172 number on April 2.

Approximately 53% of Alameda County is at least partially vaccinated, and 77% of Piedmonters over the age of 16 have received at least one dose, according to the county’s database.

Despite progress rolling out vaccines, today the CDC paused the use of the J&J vaccine due to six reported cases of a rare blood clotting condition. Over 6.8 million doses of the J&J vaccine have been administered in the U.S. as of April 12. The CDC and FDA will review the data tomorrow before making further recommendations.

(Note: The county database is updated daily, but counts for a particular past date can change as records are adjusted, per a caveat on the county’s data dashboard.)
