Letter to the Editor | Nancy Beninati cares about making Piedmont a welcoming community

We are writing to express our strongest support for Nancy Beninati for City Council. We moved to Piedmont about a year ago, and our daughter is now at Havens Elementary. When we were looking for a place to call home, we took Nancy’s advice to consider Piedmont and we are glad we did. Nancy has taken the time to show us around town and speaks glowingly of the community. During our many walks together, Nancy has shown us the parks where she has volunteered to put on events and the fields where she volunteered for her sons’ sports and has introduced us to friends and neighbors who clearly value their relationship with Nancy. She clearly cares about making Piedmont a welcoming community for everyone and I see how much her investment has made Piedmont the close and friendly community that it is.

In addition to her experience working to better the Piedmont community, Nancy has relevant and critical experience from her professional career. We first met Nancy years ago through her work at the California Department of Justice, where she supervised Tanya on cutting edge work at the intersection of civil rights and public safety. Tanya knows firsthand that Nancy has exceptional skill in building rapport with a wide range of stakeholders and developing, implementing, and enforcing innovative public policy and the law at the state level and. Importantly, her work both at the California Department of Justice and in volunteer positions in Piedmont has always been, and will continue to be, informed by the needs and voices of community members. We have no doubt that she will draw from her experiences, both within Piedmont and at the state level, to be a strong, effective City Council member.

Please join us in voting for Nancy Beninati for City Council.
