In the upcoming November 3 Piedmont City Council election we, as former Piedmont Mayors and City Council members, proudly support and recommend that Tom Ramsey be re-elected, and that Nancy Beninati and Bill Reichle be elected to the Piedmont City Council.
Having served on the City Council and been involved with Piedmont community affairs for many years, we feel that each of these very talented and dedicated individuals should be elected for the following reasons:
Tom Ramsey is an experienced architect and project manager. He was on the Piedmont Planning Commission and served as its Chair. He has brought that experience to the City Council and has been a strong voice for carefully reviewing projects and maintaining fiscal discipline. He is thoughtful, realistic and listens to all points of view. He has shown excellent leadership on many issues that the City has confronted and will continue to face in the future.
Nancy Beninati has many years of experience as an attorney with the California Department of Justice and U.C. Berkeley Goldman School of Public Policy. She has resided in Piedmont for many years, has two children in the Piedmont schools, is currently a member of the Piedmont Recreation Commission, previously served as Chair of the Piedmont Civil Service Commission, and two terms as president of the Piedmont chapter of the League of Women Voters.
Bill Reichle was an Assistant Vice Chancellor at U.C. Berkeley where he developed strategic plans, budgets and policies for numerous departments. He is a long-time Piedmont resident and has served on numerous community boards and committees including as Chair of the Audit Committee of the Piedmont Education Foundation, Camp Augusta, PHS Boosters and Piedmont Youth Soccer League.
Tom, Nancy and Bill are each dedicated Piedmont community members who listen to and respect all people and viewpoints that come before them. They each take matters they face seriously, diligently prepare, build consensus, and take all steps necessary to preserve what makes Piedmont the special place it is. Their professional and community experiences, as noted above, provide outstanding foundations upon which to effectively lead the City Council.
Please join us on November 3 and vote for the re-election of Tom Ramsey, and the election of Nancy Beninati and Bill Reichle to the Piedmont City Council.
