Supporters of Piedmont’s high school athletics program turned out for an evening of Oktoberfest-themed fun at the Piedmont Community Hall on Saturday night. Attendees enjoyed craft beer, wine, and spritzes as well as gourmet sausages and pretzels. Organizers said it was a successful event and they’re still calculating how much the event raised.
PHS Boosters President Keri Elmquist said a highlight was having student athletes involved every step of the way. “Girls and boys soccer helped pre-event by hanging signs around the neighborhoods and assembling goodie bags,” she said. “JV football muscled the setup of 10 different tents. Football, flag football, water polo, and volleyball helped with food prep and food service. Girls basketball came through once again with all of the event breakdown. I’m sure there’s a team I am missing — but our student athletes were amazing.”
