Letter to the Editor | Re-elect Tom Ramsey to Piedmont City Council

This November, I’ll be proud to cast my vote to re-elect Tom Ramsey to Piedmont City Council.

Piedmont is so fortunate to be in the good hands of a committed, thoughtful and capable leader like Tom. I’ve had the great privilege of working with Tom for four years on Piedmont’s Planning Commission. During that time, and throughout his tenure on City Council, I’ve been deeply impressed by Tom’s approach to understanding complex issues and making thoughtful decisions. Tom emphasizes collaboration and cooperation between neighbors, and balances maintaining the character of the community with being open to design innovation.

This approach was reflected in his exceptional leadership in revising Piedmont’s Design Guidelines. His efforts have made the Design Guidelines more transparent, understandable and user-friendly for homeowners, architects and contractors alike. Tom’s many years of engagement and service in Piedmont reflect his dedication to our community. Tom’s professional expertise as an architect and executive has been extraordinarily helpful to City Council as Piedmont completed construction on its new pool, and moves forward with complying with state housing laws.

Finally, Tom’s warm, collegial, and solutions-focused nature ensures that different viewpoints are respected and reflected in the Council’s decisions on important issues facing our city. I look forward to electing Tom Ramsey to City Council. I hope you’ll join me in casting your ballot for him in November.
