What does it mean to find your voice—and a place to belong?

The Piedmont East Bay Children’s Choir (PEBCC) will explore that question at its 2026 Benefit Concert & Auction, “The Sound of Home,” on Saturday, October 10, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Berkeley Marina. The evening will celebrate the extraordinary young singers of PEBCC and the community of families, educators, alumni, volunteers, accompanists, and supporters who make their musical journey possible.

Ticket sales are now closed, but supporters can still contribute to the silent auction through Sunday HERE.

Led by award-winning Artistic Director Eric Tuan, the evening will feature performances by PEBCC singers, including the Ensemble Choir, along with two special guest soloists: alumna Kate Offer, a classical singer and conductor, and PEBCC singer Naomi Walker, who recently received the 1st Prize Solo Competition award at the Golden Gate International Choral Festival.

For Tuan, a world-class choral education is about far more than learning to sing.

“Choral music is one of the most powerful ways for young people to build connections with each other and the world around them,” says Tuan. Our singers learn to listen to each other, to share their voices in a way that empowers the whole team, and to explore different cultures and perspectives through the universal language of music. As our alumni remind us, those experiences last for a lifetime.”

At the heart of PEBCC’s mission is the belief that every young person should have the opportunity to experience that journey, regardless of financial circumstances. Financial assistance is central to the organization’s commitment to building a community where every singer belongs.

The benefit concert supports that mission while celebrating the full circle of community surrounding the choir.

“Our singers are part of a community much bigger than themselves,” says Tuan. “The transformative experiences singers experience wouldn’t be possible without the alumni who come back to teach and volunteer, the families who support them through the program, and the supporters who give so generously of their time, talent, and treasure to ensure every singer finds a home at PEBCC.”
