PEF Executive Director Heather Frank accepts a $100,000 Giving Campaign pledge from Dress Best for Less President Nagisa Yamamoto at DBFL’s store on Piedmont Avenue.

From a 10/6/26 PEF press release:

Dress Best for Less, Piedmont’s longtime resale shop, has pledged $100,000 to the Piedmont Education Foundation’s 2026 Giving Campaign, continuing a relationship with Piedmont schools that has spanned more than four decades.

“Dress Best for Less is thrilled to kick off the start of the 2026 Giving Campaign with our $100,000 pledge,” said DBFL President Nagisa Yamamoto. “Our long relationship with PEF has continued to be strong, and we are honored to support the #1 unified school district in Northern California.”

Founded in 1982, Dress Best for Less has contributed more than $1 million to Piedmont schools and neighboring communities over the past 44 years. The organization’s annual support of PEF has become a longstanding tradition and reflects its broader commitment to the Piedmont community.

“We are incredibly grateful for this generous contribution and for DBFL’s longstanding commitment to our schools,” said PEF Executive Director Heather Frank. “Their continued support helps provide the teachers, staff and programs that make a difference for Piedmont students every day.”

The $100,000 pledge comes as PEF launches its 2026 Giving Campaign, which raises funds to help bridge the gap between public funding and the cost of providing Piedmont students with the educational experience the community expects.

The community can also celebrate with Dress Best for Less on Friday, October 16, when the shop sponsors the Piedmont Recreation Department’s Movie in the Park, featuring a showing of Wonka. DBFL will have a selection of Halloween costumes available for families who are still searching for the perfect costume.

Located on Piedmont Avenue, Dress Best for Less sells affordable vintage and gently used clothing, accessories and home décor. The resale shop also promotes sustainability by giving pre-loved items a second life and keeping usable goods out of the landfill.
