A fight was reported near Winsor Avenue at 2:01 a.m. on Sept. 13. Upon arrival, Piedmont Police found three women and one man who “appeared to have been involved in a physical altercation,” according to Piedmont Police Captain Chris Monahan.
He said the male appeared to have been pepper sprayed and was transported for medical attention by the Piedmont Fire Department.
The individuals found at the scene said they had been involved in a conflict near a liquor store on 13th Avenue and International Boulevard with some possible prostitutes, according to Captain Monahan. He said the victims said the conflict turned physical and they fled to Winsor. At the dead end, two males in a black Toyota Prius caught up with them with a second physical conflict taking place. One of the two suspects punched one of the women in the face, according to Captain Monahan. He said the two suspects struck the male in the head with an object and took his wallet, chain and shoes. The suspects then fled. One of the suspects has been identified, according to Captain Monahan, and charged with robbery, assault and vandalism. Some property has been recovered. The second subject is still at large.
On Sept. 17, a theft of gardening tools was reported on Marlborough Court at 1:38 p.m. A Hertz rental car was identified as the suspect vehicle – a red Acura ILX. One suspect was identified as a male of unknown race, average height, thin build, wearing a grey hoodie, grey pants and red shoes. According to Captain Monahan, that suspect exited the vehicle and took two STIHL hedge trimmers worth approximately $350 each. Captain Monahan said the
investigation is ongoing.
