Accident leads to DUI charges
An early morning incident involving a vehicle hitting three parked cars led to a DUI arrest in Piedmont on Sept. 7.
A report came in around 12:21 a.m. on Grand Avenue of an accident. Police responded and found a driver who showed signs of alcohol intoxication, according to Cmdr. Lisa Douglas of the Piedmont Police Department.
She said the driver was unable to perform several field sobriety tests and was taken into custody. The driver was cited for DUI and released.
On Sept. 5, a traffic stop was conducted on Grand Avenue for what Douglas called a minor violation around 12:57 a.m. She said the driver showed signs of intoxication. They were booked into Santa Rita Jail in Dublin for DUI. The two passengers in the vehicle were released.
On Sept. 5, a report came in on three possible juveniles breaking into vehicles and rifling through the contents on La Salle Avenue. Police responded and were unable to find any suspects or evidence of break-ins. No report was made.
