From the Piedmont Unified School District: This public hearing certifies that the school district provided sufficient textbooks, instructional materials, and science laboratory equipment aligned with state academic content standards to all students for the 2026-27 school year. This includes alignment across Mathematics, Science, History-Social Science, English/Language Arts, Foreign Language, Health, and High School Science Labs. The resolution needs to be formally passed following a public hearing held in full compliance with California Education Code Section 60119 to ensure community awareness, participation, and transparency.
The Piedmont Unified School District Board of Education will conduct a public hearing and adopt a Resolution in compliance with Education Code 60119(c) mandating that the governing board of school districts must hold a public hearing in order to receive funding for textbooks and instructional materials that are consistent with the Curriculum Framework adopted by the State Board of Education.
The public hearing will be conducted at the Regular Board meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2026 which begins at 7:00 p.m. in person at 120 Vista Avenue, Piedmont, and via Zoom webinar.
