Piedmont High School’s boys water polo team played well at the James Logan Labor Day tournament, taking two of three matches.

The Highlanders opened with a 10-9 loss to Berkeley. Rylan Patty and Henry Stein scored four goals apiece to lead Piedmont. Raffi Banin also had a goal.

The Yellowjackets got three goals including the game-winner with one minute, 33 seconds left, from Venice Johnston.

Next, the Highlanders beat Bishop O’Dowd, 15-11. Piedmont got seven goals from Stein and five from Patty. Single goals came from Walker Wilson, Travers Kemp and Zeppi Pasani.

Bishop O’Dowd got six goals for Hosi Dawit.

Finally, the Highlanders beat Mission San Jose, 13-3. Patty led the way with five goals, while Stein had three. Wilson and Jack Dahling had two apiece and Colin Amen added one.

Piedmont will host Clayton Valley on Sept. 9.
