Piedmont Adult Recreation Expo seeks exhibitors

From an Aug. 28, 2026 City of Piedmont press release:

We’re seeking local organizations that offer recreational, educational, or social programs and activities for adults to showcase their offerings at Piedmont’s third annual Adult Recreation Expo. The Expo will take place on Sunday, November 15 from 2-4:00pm at the Piedmont Veterans Memorial Building.

The Expo, anchored by the Piedmont Recreation Department, Piedmont Adult School, and Piedmont Center for the Arts and organized by volunteers, aims to bring together the myriad of adult recreational activities available in Piedmont under a single roof, allowing community members to explore, compare, and ask questions of organizers.

Register to exhibit by September 14

Exhibiting at the Expo is a great way to reach new audiences – the event attracted over 200 attendees in each of its first two years.

Groups interested in exhibiting should email lgardner555@gmail.com and campktgrp@comcast.net to sign up:

  • There is no cost to participate.
  • Expo organizers will provide a table and chairs. Exhibitors will be responsible for providing displays or materials to distribute.
  • Exhibitors should plan to have two representatives present at their table for the full event.
  • Organizers request that exhibitors announce the event to their members.

Sign up by September 14, 2026 to guarantee your spot.

Expo responds to need identified through community survey

Now in its third year, the Adult Recreation Expo grew from the work of a Recreation Commission subcommittee on older adult programming. After reviewing existing activities throughout Piedmont, as well as nearly 500 responses to a community survey, the subcommittee identified lack of knowledge about existing opportunities as a primary barrier to connecting adults with the activities they were interested in. The Expo aims to bridge this gap – and has attracted 200+ attendees each year.

The Adult Recreation Expo is organized by volunteers Dick Carter, former Recreation Commission Chair and 2026 Betty C. Howard Recreation Service Awardee and Lisa Gardner, who currently chairs Piedmont’s Recreation Commission, with support from the City of Piedmont.
