Pool pass rates increase Sept. 1

City of Piedmont

From a City of Piedmont press release:

Community Pool pass rates will increase on September 1. Purchase an annual pool pass by August 31 to lock in current rates.

Each year, as part of budget adoption, an updated schedule of fees is established for City permits, programs, and services. Fees are adjusted annually to help keep pace with the cost of providing those services. Most annual adjustments take effect July 1. However, the FY2026-27 fee schedule deferred the adjustment to pool pass rates until September 1, giving pool users an additional three months at the opening-season rates.

Annual passes will increase by approximately 10 percent. Drop-in rates are not changing. A full schedule of pass and add-on rates is available at piedmont.ca.gov/pool.

Have a summer pass? Buy now and start your annual pass October 1.

Summer passes are valid through September 30. Summer pass holders can purchase an annual pass at opening day rates through August 31 and still use the full remainder of their summer pass. We’ll hold the annual pass and activate it October 1, giving you a full 12 months at the current rate.

Expanded open swim hours at Activity Pool through September 28

Weekday summer swim lessons have ended, so the activity pool is currently open for regular drop-in open swim every evening through September 28. Reserved open swim will continue on Saturday and Sunday mornings.

Fall swim lessons begin September 29. Based on community feedback, we’ve consolidated weekday lessons to Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, so the Activity Pool will be free for drop-in open swim on more evenings.

Competition pool availability changes with team practices

With Piedmont High School water polo and Piedmont Swim Team beginning their fall schedules, competition pool availability is more limited during team practice times. Through October 30, the competition pool is dedicated to team practice starting at 5pm on Monday evenings, 6pm Tuesday-Friday, and portions of Wednesday and Saturday mornings. Throughout the season, the Competition Pool continues to offer over 61 hours of lap swim and 66 hours of rec/open swim availability per week.

Check the online schedule before you visit. Pool availability is always subject to change and will shift seasonally based on the lessons, teams, and other activities.

A year of learning and adjustment

The first year of pool operations is a period of learning and adjustment. We’re continually monitoring how people use the pools, listening to feedback, and making changes where we can to improve access while balancing the needs of a diverse array of user groups and activities.
