Piedmont residents and friends enjoyed a casual Sunday afternoon performance in Dracena Park when Vallejo Shakespeare in the Park returned to perform “Richard III”. The free, all-ages, pet-friendly event has become a summer tradition in town. This performance marks the fifth appearance of the troupe in Piedmont, according to the city.
Previous stagings include As You Like It (2025), The Winter’s Tale (2024), Hamlet (2023), and Henry V (2019). Established in 2010, Vallejo Shakespeare Group produces one live Shakespeare production each summer, with free performances in outdoor settings across the Bay Area. The troupe uses minimal sets and costuming, putting the focus on the acting.
