Candidate nomination period for City Council extended to August 12

The deadline to file candidate nomination papers for City Council has been extended to Wednesday, August 12 at 5pm because at least one eligible incumbent did not file to run for re-election. The extended deadline applies to non-incumbents only — current City Council members are no longer eligible to file.

The filing period for PUSD Board of Education is now closed. A list of people who have pulled or filed nomination papers is available at piedmont.ca.gov/vote2026.

Residents interested in running for City Council can pick up nomination documents with the City Clerk by appointment. Contact the City Clerk’s office at (510) 420-3040 or CityClerk@piedmont.ca.gov.

In advance of your appointment, review the information about running for office on the City website. This will give you an idea of what to expect and an opportunity to identify questions you want to ask when you pick up your documents.
