Once a year, Oaklandish invites adults to relive the magic of Fairyland on their own terms. On Friday, August 14, Fairyland opens its gates for the 14th annual Fairyland for Grownups, an evening of art, entertainment, and pure imagination, no kids required. 21+ only event.
Oaklandish and Children’s Fairyland host the 14th annual Fairyland for Grownups event on Friday, August 14, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. For this special evening, Fairyland opens exclusively to adults ages 21 and over, offering a rare opportunity for grown-ups to explore the magical world of Fairyland, a place typically reserved for children and their families. Fairyland for Grownups transforms the beloved storybook park into an adults-only playground, featuring cocktails, food trucks, live art activations by local visual artists, puppet shows, live DJs, dancing under the stars, and special musical performances by Bay Area heavy-hitting artists. Guests can explore Fairyland’s iconic storybook sets, from Willie the Whale to the Alice in Wonderland card maze, and even ride the beloved Jolly Trolly. Tot sized rides and animal areas will be closed for the evening.
As part of the annual benefit, guests can purchase the limited-edition Oaklandish x Fairyland “Starlit Tee,” featuring a vintage inspired illustration of Fairyland icons and storybook sets, with delightful characters journeying within its world.
The event runs for four hours, with bars and activities set up throughout the park. Admission is $30 per person and $25 for Fairyland Members. Beer, wine, and cocktails are available for purchase. A selection of Oakland’s finest food vendors will be on hand, offering a variety of delicious bites for purchase.

Proceeds from Fairyland for Grownups support Children’s Fairyland’s mission to provide affordable access to all children, including outreach programs such as Fairyland for All, summer camp scholarships, and free field trips for underserved communities.
