A residential burglary was reported on Harvard Road on the morning of July 8. The incident took place sometime the night before or that morning.
A person who was working on the house reported that they could not enter the house because a lockbox with the keys had been stolen. The call came in at approximately 8:13 a.m.
The lockbox was reported to have been on the front door handle, according to Piedmont Police Capt. Chris Monahan.
Police searched the residence and found no suspects. The reporting person said the keys from the lockbox had been used to access a detached garage and the basement. Monahan said the suspect or suspects had removed the front door handle as well. A tool bag was found on the front porch that the reporting person said did not belong to him and was entered into evidence, according to Monahan.
Three power tools worth $2,000-5,000 were reported missing. No cameras nor eyewitnesses were reported according to Monahan. He said that no Flock results on a suspect vehicle were found.
