On Friday, the 2026 Alameda County Fair opens to the public. At this year’s rendition of the fair, people will get to eat their favorite fair foods, enjoy carnival rides, and check out a wide assortment of animals, including racing pigs.
The fair, located in Pleasanton, is also bringing in new attractions and points of interest at the fair including a 9/11 memorial area with a beam from the original Twin Towers.
“We’re celebrating the 250th anniversary of the United States, there’s a lot of Americana decor, you’ll see that reflected as you walk around. A big part of that was the 9/11 memorial which we built right near the grandstands,” said fair spokesperson Liz Rosinski.
Opening night will also include a fireworks and drone show.
There will be plenty of options for food and beverages this year with over 100 different vendor booths set up around the festival.
Performances of musical acts across multiple genres are here to ensure that there is something for everyone to enjoy. Some notable performances are Boyz II Men on July 10, En Vogue on June 26, and the Gene Simmons Band on Friday.
Action sports and events will also be present at the festival. Members from Off Axis Acrobatics will perform high flying tricks on bikes and scooters. And a monster truck rally will take place at the festival.
Foodies and fried food fanatics will have plenty to bite down on at this year’s fair. Many fan favorites are returning, including Sweets by J serving their signature Dip Waffle Stick, customizable with sprinkles and different dipping sauces.
Spam Wonton Tacos will also be sold at the Boba King stand. For those who still have a sweet tooth, they can check out the Dough Show food booth and try one of their lemon sugar cookies, topped with strawberry cream cheese frosting, and a strawberry golden Oreo crumb.
Cost for attending this year’s fair is $19.80 for general admission, with seniors and children getting in at a discounted price.
