Second at large in follow up

Police have arrested one suspect from a residential burglary on Scenic Avenue in the early-morning hours of March 24. According to Piedmont Police Capt. Chris Monahan, two suspects entered the house around 12:25 a.m. A resident was asleep in the the home and was woken up by the suspects, who demanded cash. When she was unable to comply, police said they assaulted her.

A second resident returned home during the incident finding the doors open. The second resident encountered the suspects. By the time police arrived, the suspects had fled.

Piedmont Police posted to the Department’s Facebook page on April 14, “We want to inform the community that an arrest has been made in this case, and the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office has charged this individual with robbery.”

Monahan said there wasn’t anything else to report, that the investigation is ongoing and the Department is working on identifying the second suspect.


On April 11, a report of shots fired, possibly as many as 30, came in around 11:30 p.m. according to the police log. Multiple callers reported the incident. Monahan said nothing was found the noise could have been coming from the Pleasant Valley area in Oakland.


On April 14, a purple Dodge Charger was reported stolen from Moraga Avenue at 6:22 a.m. The vehicle was parked in front of the residence around 4 p.m. the day before and was discovered gone at 6 a.m. The vehicle was located in Oakland the same day.
