As the Board of Piedmonters for Inclusive Education (PIE), we represent families of students with disabilities and neurodivergences — any child navigating PUSD with an IEP or 504 plan. We are writing to urge our neighbors to vote “Yes” on Measure H.
Measure H provides $12 million — 20% of the PUSD budget. This funding helps recruit and retain high-quality teachers and counselors who understand how to support diverse learning styles and pathways. It helps fund top-tier curriculum, as well as music, visual, and performing arts. Without this local revenue, the district would face significant budget challenges, putting at risk the “exceptional” education Piedmont is known for.
Even for the 2/3 of Piedmont residents without children in our schools, this is a critical investment. Our district’s commitment to meeting every child’s needs is what makes Piedmont a “hub” of excellence. This reputation directly sustains our property values and our town’s character — one that is inclusive, welcoming, and where everyone belongs.
A “Yes” vote on Measure H is an act of stewardship for our community’s future. Let’s ensure Piedmont remains a place where every learner has the resources to thrive. Please join us on Tuesday, June 2, in voting Yes on Measure H.
Sincerely,
The PIE Board
