Victim reports two suspects woke her up, demanded cash
Two suspects entered a house on Scenic Avenue around 12:25 a.m. on March 25, woke up a resident and demanded cash according to a report from the Piedmont Police Department.
An adult female was asleep in the residence, police said. She reported that two suspects woke her up and demanded cash. When she was unable to comply, according to police, the two assaulted her. The report said she sustained unspecified injuries.
Another resident returned home during the incident, finding the front doors open. They encountered one suspect while another fled downstairs, according to the report. Police said they arrived two minutes after the call but the suspects had fled.
The suspects are described as two adult Black males, 5-foot-10 and 6-0 tall. They were said to have been wearing gray and black hoodies, respectively.
Police said they used Flock cameras to identify a suspect vehicle, which was recovered an hour later in Oakland and towed for evidence. Police said there is an ongoing investigation. Police also advised residents to prioritize safety and security and keep all doors and windows locked.
