Piedmont Council Scouting America holds recruitment season throughout March

In the spring, Piedmont Council’s five troops (youth groups for boys and girls in 5th grade and up) open their doors to families interested in the scouting program. Open house meetings are an opportunity for kids and their parents to visit a specific scout troop, meet youth and adult leadership, and learn about that troop’s unique brand of scouting. Troops also share highlights from recent campouts, and discuss upcoming activities.

Scouting is a time-honored tradition in the community of Piedmont, with 20% of Piedmont youth involved in the program. Scouting provides youth with hands-on leadership experiences and allows them to practice life skills while serving their community. It instills citizenship and character, fosters communication, and builds a self-reliance in youth as they organize events and take on challenges together.

Have questions about the open house meetings? Reach out to Piedmont Council’s Program Coordinator Eris Turner: eturner@piedmontbsa.org – (510) 844-4752. Contact details and links for further information are below for past and upcoming open house events.
