The Blotter | Man arrested for warrant, possession

Suspect had theft warrant from Brentwood

A male suspect was arrested in Piedmont on Feb. 8 with an outstanding warrant for theft. Police conducted a pedestrian stop at 1:21 a.m. on Grand Avenue. The individual had a no bail warrant from Brentwood, according to Piedmont Police Capt. Chris Monahan.

He said a search produced two glass pipes and 8.65 grams of suspected methamphetamine.

The suspect was taken to Santa Rita Jail in Dublin and booked for the possession charge and the warrant.

A missing person was reported on Feb. 10 on Mountain Avenue. An elderly woman had been visiting her family when family members left her alone while they ran errands around 1 p.m., Monahan said. The family returned around 5 p.m. and the elderly woman was gone. Around 7:14 p.m., the missing woman contacted her daughter and said she had walked home to her assisted living facility in Emeryville.

On Feb. 12, it was reported that someone had drilled the front door lock at an unoccupied residence on Sandringham Road sometime between Nov. 26 and Feb. 12. The victim told police there was no loss but the locks appeared to have been changed, according to Monahan.

Also on Feb. 12, a red 2012 Lexus CT2 set off the city’s Automated License Plate Reader system. The vehicle was wanted for involvement in a residential burglary in El Cerrito, according to Monahan. Police found the vehicle in a parking lot with someone inside. El Cerrito police were not looking for that person, so they were identified and released, according to Monahan.

The car was towed by the El Cerrito Police Department.
