Boys soccer | Piedmont closes out long season

Piedmont High School’s boys soccer team finished off a very long season with a 10-match losing streak, finishing off the season 2-16, 1-11 in West Alameda County Conference Foothill Division play.

On Feb. 6, the Highlanders fell to Berkeley at Witter Field, 3-0. Henry Banks, Luc Haji and Jesus Ledezma had goals for the Yellowjackets while Nicolas Smok Blanchard added an assist. Goalkeeper Cedar Nicholson had three saves for Berkeley. Piedmont statistics were not available.

On Feb. 10, the Highlanders lost at Bishop O’Dowd, 1-0. Senai Hadgu had the only goal of the game for the Dragons.

On Feb. 12, Piedmont concluded the season with a 2-1 loss to visiting Castro Valley. No statistics from the game are available. The Trojans finished 11-7-3 to earn a North Coast Section playoff berth.
